We are studying elephants in the balloon classes this week.  We learned the similarities and differences between African and Asian elephants, made elephant ears out of poster paper, created elephants’ trunks out of gray socks and then did an elephant drama.  After this, we talked about how elephants must feel, with such big ears and a long trunk.  We read the story about Elmer and then guessed how many shapes would fit into the elephant drawing.  At the end, we compared our guesses with the actual number.
