Kindergarten students continued to learn about autumn by preparing fruit juice from seasonal fruit.  Students learned about fruits in season, which vitamins there are in them and what needs to be done to keep healthy. Students then enjoyed making fruit juice from seasonal fruit such as tangerines, oranges and lemons.

Kindergarten students spent the whole week working on writing number “1” and recognizing the sound “A”. Students found “1” object and compared the item to the number, then practiced how to write the number. Students learned a song about the letter “A” and learned how to write it. Students also listened to riddles and rhymes about the letter “A”.  Students then found words with the letter “A” at the beginning, in the middle and at the end of words, and practiced and circled them.

Kindergarten students did different activities about learning how to draw different types of lines. Students tried to make vertical, horizontal, cursive, oblique, spiral and zigzag lines with their bodies, walked along different types of lines, drew lines and used their imagination to completed pictures.

Kindergarten students started iPad lessons to enhance technology  into the program and to show that iPad’s can be used as a learning tool. Students learned about how and why we use iPad’s. Students then had a chance to practice eye-hand co-ordination with activities such as “finding the differences” and a “maze”.

We live in Istanbul and we may see graffiti on the walls, adding color to the city. Students looked at the letters of the word “Istanbul” as a picture and filled it in with stripes. The students prepared a beautiful dynamic and lively grafitti. At the same time students revised and reviewed the different types of stripes learned in previous lessons.
