KINDERGARTEN FIRE STATION TRIP

Kindergarten students went on a trip to the Üsküdar Doğancılar Fire Station as part of consolidating awareness about security.  Students also learned about keeping themselves safe, expressing themselves when there is a dangerous situation and learning about general security rules.   Students toured the Fire Station and asked questions about their duties and responsibilities. Students learned about what their own duties and responsibilities were regarding the environment and their surroundings.

KINDERGARTEN “NO TOY” DAY 

Kindergarten students continue to enjoy being creative, imaginative and learning about traditional games during “No Toy” day.  Students brainstormed about what they could play with using classroom materials and toys, then they try to implement this in their free time play.  Students then got together to plan their daily plans under different headings. Students then have fun making and playing games with collected materials, self-made origami activities and playing traditional games one “free time” play a week.

KINDERGARTEN MIND LAB LESSONS – TIC TAC TOE GAMES

Kindergarten students learned about how to play “Tic Tac Toe” in their Mind Lab lessons. After introducing and talking about the game, they were told that they would be using the game regularly with the “Traffic Light” method.  Before playing, the students were introduced to the “Stop, Think, and Play” strategy and did many activities such as hanging up visual material and learning about row and column concepts in their classrooms. Students then had a chance to play Tic Tac Toe board games on the carpet, at their tables and on the smartboard.

OSMAN HAMDİ BEY

Osman Hamdi Bey is a valuable Turkish artist in our culture.  He is well known for introducing and bringing in new innovations into our culture. He contributed to our country by founding a museum and an art school which made several detailed art studies.  The main and most important piece of work was “Tortoise”.  Students learned about him and then had a chance to do an activity to consolidate this very important Turkish artist. 

KINDERGARTEN PYJAMA PARTY 

Kindergarten had a fun day with their Pyjama Party. Students wore their pyjamas and spoke about what they enjoyed doing before going to sleep every night. Students had fun listening to bedtime stories, dancing and playing games throughout the day.
