During the week of December 26-30, 4th Graders created “Matchbox Miniature Books” in their Language Arts Lessons.  These miniature books, which were folded inside small matchboxes, were created while reading The Boxcar Children.  Students drew pictures, summarized the chapters, and finally, decorated the covers of their matchbox books.  This project not only enabled students an opportunity to reflect upon and summarize what was read, but it also gave them a chance to illustrate their own miniature book filled with original art!
