This week in the kindergarten, we have been doing an experiment about how long it takes for different things, when buried in soil, to disintegrate.  First, our teachers brought the soil to our classrooms for us to examine, and then we talked about the features of different matters.  We discussed how long these things take to disappear when they are left in the trash or in the recycling bin.  Then in our classrooms, we chose a block, straw, a wooden spoon, and other plastic and metal items.  From our cafeteria, we got carrots and bread.  We buried all these items in the soil.  Now we are excited to check the soil every day to any changes.
