Our fourth grade students went to Kuzguncuk Community Garden to examine biodiversity. This experience was part our Eco School international Toyota Fund for Europe project for biodiversity. Six teams entered an Eco STEM challenge to review parts of a plant and a seed. The students examined their snack bags for items that were plant based.  Using only electrical tape and reused plastic straws, each team made a bio cube to examine a mini habitat of the garden.  Students made seed mosaics that will be used to decorate our own USEV Eco Greenhouse. Our students examined the garden and discussed with parts of each plant we consume.  Our Eco heroes even designed a plant part salad that contained at least one kind of leaf, stem, root, flower, and seeds.  It was a great way to enjoy the day in the name of biodiversity.
