This year’s Üsküdar SEV Middle School Summer Orientation Program included three different levels for our transfer students.  The English department prepared a variety of activities for our new pupils.  Students were oriented to their new campus and familiarized with our library and the school’s reading management software programs Reading Counts and Accelerated Reader.  Students also completed a variety of projects that included: performing a radio play, reading newsreels, miming games, tracing their hands and telling their life story, creating play dough sculptures to demonstrate English idioms and the students’ own emotions,  and completing a human scavenger hunt.

The teachers all voiced the fact that this year’s group was both talented and cooperative.  At the end of the orientation program, there was a dodge ball game between the students and teachers.  It was incredibly close, and the students proved themselves able opponents, but the teachers did win the game! We all are so happy to be have our new members of the SEV family.
