The current theme of 5th grade English classes is Japan and Japanese culture. To complement this all 5th grade classes have been given a reading of the book Festivals of the World: Japan by Susan McKay, giving information about the country and its festivals. The classes were especially interested in finding out about Girl’s Day and Boy’s Day.
