During the week of February 6-10, 4th Graders created “A Butterfly with Tints” in their Art Lessons.  Students first reviewed “Value” as an important Element of Art, and the difference between shades, tones and tints.  “Shades” are when colors are mixed with black, “tones” are when colors are mixed with gray, and “tints” are when colors are mixed with white.  Focusing specifically on tints, students experimented with tempera paint and created colorful butterflies using a three-color gradient scale.  The results were beautiful!!
