Our school was decorated for the Library Week. The events that will take place in this week was announced at the flag ceremony on Monday.

At the end of the ceremony, all classes watched the video about libraries which had presented the major libraries in our country and some of the children's libraries in Istanbul. The writer and editor Burcu Ünsal had a talk with our third graders the same day.

The illustrator and writer Rıfat Batur came from Ankara to have a talk with our fourth graders.

In particular for this week, we spent HOMEROOM times by reading books.

Our kindergarten students visited our library. We talked about libraries and books. We read the book "Library Cat Dewey" and kindergarten students were given bookmarks as presents.

And Book Hero Day...Our students came to school with the costume of their favorite book hero for one day, and that day was very fun for all of us.

Bookstands were opened, we had the chance to see the new publications and bought new books.

The same day, we played the piano that is on the library floor just for the books. The musical notes were only for the books.

3rd. and 4th. graders went on a press tour with our third and fourth graders who used the library most frequently throughout the year. We learnt the process of book printing and a board was prepared to show our press tour. Our poster, consisting of our impressions and photographs, took our friends’ attention a lot.

A Library Week has gone with joyful events. Wishing that you will always have books in your life ...

Happy Library Week!
