During the week of April 18-21, 4th Graders created “Paper Weavings” in their Art Lessons.  Students first reviewed “Texture” as an important Element of Art, and the difference between real texture and the illusion of texture.  Students then learned about weaving as an art form, the importance of weaving in Turkish culture, and technical terms of warp versus weft.  Students then created a loom out of black paper, and used strips of colored paper to create a woven pattern.  The results were magnificent!
