As we normally do every year in the second week of November, we had a lot of fun celebrating International Children’s Book Week.

In both our Turkish and English library lessons, we had many guest readers, read books in many different languages, and did many fun projects. We put up all the Book Week projects on our classroom doors. For Book Hero Day, we all came to school in a book hero costume of our favorite book character and we read a book from the character that we chose. We had a nice opportunity to see and buy newly published books from our book stand. Authors, Sarah Sweeney and Şiirsel Taş, came to read to our classes. At the main entrance of our school, we learned many interesting facts from the signs we displayed of many well-known writers and books. Additionally, throughout the week during the homeroom hour, everyone read a book.

Hooray for books! Hooray for reading!
