Academic studies emphasize the importance of exposure to the target language in early childhood for language acquisition. When children learn their native language, they first observe their surroundings, imitate what they hear, and make sense of it; later, they transform their accumulated knowledge into speaking skills. To ensure that children learn the target language (English) in a similar way, it is essential to create environments as close to natural settings as possible throughout the day and integrate the language into daily life. For this reason, our kindergarten implements the Dual Language Program.
Within our Dual Language Program, the targeted learning outcomes are applied in an interdisciplinary manner through simultaneous and parallel acquisition, based on the national curriculum (MEB) and the GEMS program.
The day begins with morning routines. Following the Wake Up activity, Circle Time is conducted in both English and Turkish.
