SCIENCE HEROES FLL ROBOTICS TOURNAMENT

Science Heroes Get Together is one of the international scientific tournaments held in 80 countries with over 25.000 team participants. It is one of the international tournaments hosted in Turkey as part of the FIRST LEGO League (FLL). It is an event designed for students aged 9-16 to in order for them to “recognize themselves as considerate citizens and scientists of the future”.

Teams who will participate in the tournament need to complete the necessary tasks that are on the tournament table in the shortest time possible. They need to program and design a robot and carry out a research project about world matters. During this project, they will have gained values like team work, sharing different experiences, friendly competition rules and full concentration. Students who participate in the tournaments will gain a fun experience in science, art, technology and team work concepts like expression, listening, presentation and sharing. These experiences will give them the ability to picture themselves as future scientists, engineers and caring world citizens.

We, as SEV Middle School Science Department, participate in this event every year. Our Robot Team SEVix prepare for this event with our Science and Robotics Club teacher Ayça Ulucan and  team coach Hünkar Küçükgüzel during club hours in order to represent our school in this tournament.
