The relationship between language and thought lasts a lifetime. The child who learns to read and write has acquired the formula of the language, but in order to use this formula correctly, he needs to develop his reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. It is also a fact that children who build their mother tongue on a strong foundation learn foreign languages more easily. Special attention is given to language teaching, starting with Turkish, at Üsküdar SEV Middle School because communication ability affects language skills, and thus directly affects life success.
GOALS
The Turkish Department curriculum aims to raise individuals who can move on to other stories from their own story, reach the dimensions of universal life from daily life, establish connections between their own culture and other cultures, and are curious about their own literature and world literature by comprehending the four basic language skills. Through producing solutions, drawing conclusions, keeping up with change and development, establishing connections between the world of the imagination and the real world, listening, researching, discussing, writing, realizing the importance of the mother tongue in order to become a world citizen and learn a foreign language, pushing the boundaries of thought, knowing and protecting himself, his environment, his country, nature and the whole universe we aim to raise positive individuals who adhere to Atatürk's principles and reforms.
PROGRAM
The Turkish lessons basically cover reading, writing, speaking, and listening/watching. Based on the curriculum of the Ministry of Education; the lessons are executed with literary works, ministry textbooks and supplementary books.

Concrete Information Instead of Abstract Information: Constructive and applicable information is given by following paths and methods leading to this information.
Method of Reaching Reality: Events, facts, objects, concepts are studied with their opposites; person, world, time triangle is handled with the dimensions of language and meaning.
Scientific Knowledge: Study of this is based on research, observation, examination, experimentation, application, comparison, revealing cause-effect relationships, learning while doing. All scientific, technological, visual and auditory tools are used.
