We used the library lessons in the first week of February to teach some terminology such as author, illustrator, and the parts of a book. We explained the CALL number system for locating books in the library, as well as the AR Book Level numbers, showing the difficulty of each book. We then showed the students the Five Finger Rule for countıng unknown vocabulary items in order to judge the book’s difficulty. Finally students were given a worksheet to choose and evaluate books for themselves.
